![]() They always seem to anticipate how the human armies will engage them. The aliens are incredibly powerful, not only on the battlefield but in their planning and tactics. Unfortunately, things have not been going so well for them. ![]() All nationalities have joined together to attempt to repel the alien horde. Humanity has rallied together to defend against the onslaught by creating the UDF (United Defense Force) and powerful exoskeletons for their troops. In the manga and light novel they also transform the land that they travel across, eating the water and soil and excreting a sickly green liquid that is toxic to humans. These aliens are named “Mimics” and they have slowly crept across the globe, exterminating all the humans they come across. Kiriya Keiji (movie: William Cage) lives in a near-future Earth beset by a terrible alien invasion. Genre/Elements: Sci Fi, Action, Shounen, Time Travel as a Key Element This review aims to compare and contrast all three of these stories, and give my take on them. Unable to resist the temptation of a light novel adaptation on the big screen I went and watched it, followed by also reading the light novel and finishing up the available chapters of the manga. Of course, it wasn’t based on the manga, but on the original source material, a light novel also named “All You Need Is Kill”. Just a few weeks ago I learned that the latest Sci-Fi Hollywood blockbuster “Edge of Tomorrow” was based on “All You Need Is Kill”. At the time though, there weren’t too many chapters of it available and I felt like I hadn’t experienced enough to give a good judgement. “All You Need Is Kill” was a manga I came across a few months ago and really enjoyed. ![]() Whats This All About?: In a break from my 20 post established tradition, this review aims to looks at three very related stories.
